Hood easily could have gone far from Knoxville, and almost left his past behind. but he chose to play at UT, so it's kinda like he's taking the approach that, "hey this is what happened, but I'm gonna face people's reactions and prove to them I'm different." maybe that's wishful thinking or drinking the kool-aid or whatever, but you're right. Had it been handled properly like most juvenile cases it would have been a non event outside of Knoxville. Already the gators are lining up to chant rapist according to some of their postings. He could have gone somewhere where no one knew him but chose to stay in Knoxville. I think the kid has a lot of courage to spend the next four years in Knoxville as it won't be easy.
