So, basketball season is now truly upon us. I know, I know, it's been "upon" us for almost 2 months now, but with football's bowl season over, it's now time for the conference basketball schedules to begin. Tonight the Vols take on Ole Miss in what was probably not predicted, pre-season, to be a great game. Oh how the prognosticators were wrong. The No. 16 Rebels have surprised everyone in the basketball world by posting a 13-0 record into the SEC conference season. This looks to be a key contest in determining the early running order in the SEC. Mississippi looks to keep their unbeaten record and prove to the national media that they deserve respect as they meet the Vols tonight at Thompson Boling Arena. The Vols, on the other hand hope to repeat their 2006-07 undefeated home record versus SEC opponents. The Vols also want to keep the momentum they established during the non-conference schedule.
